FAQ

  1. How long will it take for my keyboard to be made?
    – For the Egineered Dactyl it will take 14 days (including weekend days) to be fully assembled and ready to ship
    – For the Instant Dactyl, they are already assembled and ready to be shipped within 24 hours.

  2. How long will it take my keyboard to ship?
    – That varies based on destination and shipper option. We offer two shipping methods.
    – Premium Packet with Croatian Post is free for the whole world and the packages can arrive anywhere between 2 to 12 days. This is the official delivery time, but from experience this can take a few days longer.
    – International Express with DPD is a paid shipping option and the packages can be there in 2 to 9 days.
    – For exact shipping times please check our Shipping Policy.

  3. What about the import taxes?
    – Inside the EU there will be no import taxes, because we ship from Croatia which is in the EU.
    – Shipping outside of EU might incur import taxes. You will have to check your country import laws.
    – The paid shipping option provides a more streamlined import process that is managed by DPD.
    – From experience, we can say that to some countries (U.S.A., Australia and some others) our customers reported that there where no import procedures or taxes, with either shipping option. That might be due to various reason, one of them being the purchase price does not go above the free import limit. In any case, please do not count on this as being 100% sure.

  4. There is a customization I want and don’t see as an option in the customizer.
    – We are constantly working on new stuff to bring to you. If you have something in mind that we are actually working on we can give you an estimate on when we will be ready. If you imagined something that we do not plan to make, we might still be able to make it for you. If we would not be able to accommodate your specific need, we would at least make the effort to point you into the right direction.
    – Examples of customization we have done is modified Dactyl parameters such as tenting angle, one handed keyboard, custom firmware programming for your specific needs and so on.

  5. I am not happy with my keyboard! I want a refund.
    – We are very sorry to hear that. We will do everything in our power to correct the error, if we can. If you still want a refund you have 30 days from the date the keyboard arrived to you to return it back with a full refund. They keyboard must show no signs of wear or tear.

  6. Is there any warranty on the keyboards?
    – At the moment we do not offer any warranties. You can return your keyboard in 30 days, but that is as far as we can go. The reason why we don’t do that yet is because we are a small company. We are still developing and adding warranties would cause us tremendous overhead to handle it. We aim to provide the best quality, so we would not expect a lot of such cases, but still, the processes needed to be implemented for warranties would be too much for us to handle, at the moment. However if you have any issues what so ever, don’t hesitate to Contact Us and we will do our best to try to remedy the problem.

  7. I want to assemble the keyboard myself.
    – It is possible of course, but at the moment the assembly of the keyboard requires the use of CA glue (super glue) with small elements (hot swap sockets). Without proper viscosity glue and good practice this can quickly become a mess. However we are very close to making a unique PCB that can take these problems out of equation. Stay tuned.

  8. I want to print the keyboard myself.
    – Certainly possible. If you go to the Engineered Dactyl and select your desired options in the configurator and then look for a download button at the bottom of the page you can get the .STL files (downloads as .ZIP). Alternatively you can check out our GitHub page, pull the code, customize the parameters and generate a keyboard yourself.
